ABOUT OUR PIANO LESSONS
Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Beyonce, our teachers are ready to help you become the pianist you want to be and to share their love of music with you. With so many pianists on our staff, we’re able to match students with a teacher who will work best with their age, ability, and interests. We start piano lessons as young as 5 years old. Before the age of 5, we recommend our early childhood music classes.
The piano instructors at the Hilliard Music Academy will teach you fundamentals such as sight reading, technique, and theory. They’ll also incorporate songs that you want to learn into your lessons! For our more advanced students, we have teachers with Master’s and Doctorate degrees who can work with students preparing for competitions or college auditions.

Professional Office Staff 5 Days a Week
Many music studio desks are staffed by the teacher/owner or more commonly, an answering machine. We have full-time team members at the front desk who are available to assist you from 12:30pm-8:30pm Monday through Friday.
FREE RECITALS AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Unlike other schools in Columbus, we offer free recitals and other performance opportunities! Our recitals are low pressure, fun, and completely free, and are a wonderful way for students to build confidence and to show off their hard work.
LEVEL UP: MUSIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Through our Level Up Motivational Program, our students climb from Levels 1 through 10, earning certificates, medals, and other accolades. Think of this as a martial arts black belt program, but for music lessons! This nationally recognized program is completely free (and optional) for Academy students of all ages and has the structure many students need. Our students have never been more motivated to master their instrument!
MONTH TO MONTH LESSONS
We understand that sometimes life happens and schedules change, so we don’t have any binding, long-term contracts. We only require a 30 day notice to stop lessons.

How Music lessons work

Choose a time that works for you using our easy online scheduler and book a 30-minute introductory lesson. It’s a relaxed way to meet your teacher, share your goals, and see what lessons are like before getting started.

We start private piano lessons at age 5. For children ages 3–6, we also offer Early Childhood Music Classes that provide a wonderful musical foundation before formal instrument study begins.

You don't need a full acoustic piano to get started. A keyboard with at least 61 weighted keys works well for beginners. Your teacher can give you specific recommendations based on your goals and budget.

No problem at all. We offer unlimited makeup lessons with 24 hours’ notice — just give us notice and we'll find another time that works. We understand that life happens and we never penalize families for it.

No long-term contracts, ever. We operate on a month-to-month basis and only require 30 days notice to pause or stop lessons.
