What sets us apart?

The Hilliard Music Academy provides exceptional music lessons to students of all ages and abilities in an engaging environment. Beginning music students learn fundamentals like reading music, improvisation, technique, theory, and more. Intermediate to advanced students work on increasing their proficiency in their instrument in addition to mastering a significant repertoire and developing their overall musicianship.

At HMA, we celebrate the uniqueness of every student! Our incredible music teachers make it their mission to create a unique curriculum for each student, using whatever teaching methods work best for you and focusing on your musical interests. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, our instructors give students of all ages and abilities the tools they need to develop themselves musically and to nurture a love of music.

WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR MUSIC LESSONS?

This question is usually asked by prospective students. Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you and become familiar with your personal musical goals and needs.

We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach.

A seven-year-old taking their first guitar lesson would have vastly different needs, compared to a fifty-seven-year-old taking up piano for the second time, after having had lessons years ago as a child. The main reason to choose the Hilliard Music Academy as your music lesson provider is that we’re sensitive to the fact that each student is a unique individual!

If you decide to enroll here for lessons, we’ll work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. During your first lesson, your instructor will ask you what kind of music you like and help you set goals to accomplish whatever you desire!

WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH?

We teach all styles, including, but not limited to: blues, classical, country, jazz, musical theatre, pop, and rock.

WHAT if we have to miss a lesson?

As long as you notify us of the cancellation at least six hours before the lesson, we’ll give you a make up pass! These are unlimited, so you never need to worry about missing lessons.

Are your teachers qualified?

Our instructors are highly qualified, holding either a degree in music or very extensive performance and playing ability. For our degreed teachers, they have received their education from prestigious institutions such as the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, The Berklee College of Music, Oberlin College and Conservatory, The Ohio State University, Capital University, and many others. For our instructors with extensive or exceptional performing ability, they are thoroughly vetted by our school owner, Chad Ebert.

In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn in your music lessons.
